| My dad is taking a trip up to the boundary waters.
They are going out of saganaga lake up to American point, then canoeing down to Ester and Hanson lake to camp out for a week. Does anyone have any info on these waters? How's the pike and walleye fishing and are there any muskies? Thanks

Location: South Central Wisconsin | It's been ALOT of years since I was there but, the pike and smallie fishing was awesome. Seems like all we did was cast rapalas. A storm blew in and we took shelter on a small island and I remember 6 big walleye carcasses with the cheeks cut out. Had I knew then, what I know now, I'd have brought some jigs along... |

| smallies are outstanding. Bring floating rapalas and throw at rocks and brush. Bring jigs and gulp (used to take leeches) for walleyes. Points. Narrows. ripples below waterfalls. if water fast below falls, throw rapalas too. noertherns will bite you off so bring extra lures. drag big spoons deep when paddling through lakes. May pick up a bonus lake trout. No muskies. |

| you'll find perch up there, but most of the forage is in the form of suckers. you won't catch me up in that area without a back/nickel mepps giant killer and buchertail.
for smallies i'd pack some zoom super flukes |

Location: Alex or Alek? | Never been to that area but we always do well in the lac la croix area with a jig and a leech. Flicker shads have been great out the back of the canoe while paddling. |
