| I am having a few issues with some of my double bladed bucktails I make. I try to mimic how some of the store bought ones are....but when I run mine....some of them roll really bad and the skirts look like a big ball and they don't flare good at all. Am I missing something?
Thanks! |

| Flash or marabou? Blades too far from the skirt. For Flashabou... Skirt may be too long, not enough material, or too much. For Marabou, you may not have enough material They can twist, use a keel weight or put a bend in the loop for your snap. |

| I had some trouble when I first started. They would roll if I burned too fast. Messed around with how I tied and size of weights. That helped but it still would roll sometimes. What did it for me was changing from .051 wire to .062 wire. Now all my baits pull true. If you're using .051 try the .062 and see if that helps |

| If theyre rolling it might just be your clevises. Look at the two clevises and see if they are the straight and the same width... A lot of clevises come kind of opened up out of the package. You want to tweak the ends so they are perpendicular to the wire shaft and so both are the same width so they spin together and dont skip. Its easy to do before you assemble the baits, use needle nose pliers and be careful, you can squeeze them together pretty easily. Just go slow and make a pair that are exactly alike. |

Are you asking me? Of the clevises? |
