I just read in the Kenosha News that the DNR is closing the Silver Lake Boat launch as of 11p.m. Oct.7th and will remain closed until the project is completed. This is the second phase of the improvements, this will include resurfacing of the parking lot and a boarding pier. I have called the DNR and if they get back to me about when the launch will be reopened if at all this year, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the info Dave. I was there today and when I was loading up someone stopped by and asked what I thought of it. I said it sucked and they never should have touched it. I think he may have been a pleasureboater because he did not say a whole lot and drove off. Al least there is the private launch on the other side.[]

Todd if i am not mistaken the private launch charges 5 dollars. but last time the launch was closed they raised the price to 10 dollars. I left a voice mail for the game warden and fisheres bioligist for our zone but so far nobody has returned my call. If i dont hear from them by monday afternoon i will call back. I will post any info Ican get out of them.

Davej:

I wonder if they planned on re doing the launch as poorly as they could. What is this clsoing? Exactly where is the private launch? I am used to paying on the Chain so i wont be any shock for me to pay $10.00. By the way nice Rampage. We ended up with three the day we ran into you on the water.

The private launch is on the south side of the lake on F or silver lake rd. It's right there at the outlet creek. I launched there in the spring and it cost ten bucks. It's a nice ramp.

Posted up on lake-link my sediments about the guy trolling and having the undersized bass. Apparanlty he is a lake linker and was quite upset with me and will be looking for me out there. Did not see him today. I guess the guy does not abide by any laws.[]
