Anon,
You can troll for muskie without the use of live bait, and be very successful. I to am a handicaped Veteran, with limits on how I can fish. However, I have chosen not
to make that an issue, that others have to deal with.
So Get over it and move on.

I agree with you that quick strike rigs are no more potentially harmful than a jerk bait, no argument there. The rules, however, are the rules, and as I said, are probably not open to debate. Email Bob with your questions, maybe he can answer  better than I why live bait is prohibited.

I know several folks with your disability who fish muskies; trolling big cranks or spinnerbaits or a similar tactic is an approach to fish this event effectively. There are many events won every year by anglers using trolling techniques; something that would be competitive and effective.

I didn't see the pontoon rule, that again is a good question to email Bob directly for an answer. I do know there are many open floor plan boats that will accept a chair nicely, so that may be an option for you.

I am absolutely certain that there is no design or desire to not accomodate the physically limited for this event. The rules here are pretty much the standard in Muskie tournaments I have fished all across the country.

Dear Anon Veteran,

First let me thank you for the service you and other vets who visit this site did for our country. I for one am a very appreciative American and I think too many don't really understand what all of our Vets have been through.

Secondly, Steve Worrall is not the one to address any issues about this tournament to. He is not involved in this tournament to my understanding. The tournament is being run by Bob M. and the Simply Fishing staff. They should be the ones to address any concerns.

As a reminder to all.... MuskieFIRST and all outdoor media message boards do not allow and will not allow personal attacks or "read between the line" attacks on individuals or companies.

Let us all please act like the adults that we are suppose to be. We would rather not have to edit this thread or move it to the recycle bin.

If you want to debate live bait in tournament than do it on another post, and do it without attacking other individuals.

Thank you,

Hi Everyone:

Just finished the Madison Show, thanks to all in attendence. It's great to see the standing room only crowds at muskie presentations. It says a lot for the sport.

Let me be perfectly clear, there will be NO LIVE BAIT. Trolling will be allowed. As for the pontoon, if it's a special requirement for obvious reasons, please contact me. We will deal with it internally. NO ONE will be left out because of a handicap, veterian or otherwise.

Sincerely,
Bob Mehsikomer

We'll see ya at the Big Show.

P/S Thanks again for trying to explain our position Steve.

Hi Art:

No, there has not been a lunch site decided. We are trying to negotiate the host location as we speak. As for three in the boat, the answer is no, it will be limited to two anglers.

Thanks,
Bob Mehsikomer
