Hello, Friends.

While I was ordering my tackle in the closet, I found a spool of power pro 80 lb.
Seeing the graphics of the pack certainly is the first / old Power Pro model.
Touching it, I saw a dark green powder on my hand, I tried to pull the thread and I saw this dust fall down again.
I hope it is not asbestos.
The question is: can I fill my reel with that thread or is it better to throw it ?
Any suggestion to eliminate that dust ?
I'm afraid that in addition to being asbestos, that dust can get into the gear of my reel .

Thanks in advance

I don't think you have to worry about asbestos! It's the reason I don't care for power pro - I've seen it create dust like that and yes it does got all over inside and out on reels and requires lots of cleaning. But that's just been my experience, others may differ.

I hope you don't use lead jigs or sinkers. No way is that asbestos, I've been using PP since it first came out, no health issues here.

PP sure will turn your fingers green if you spool up a reel in the rain/wet. Good line though

Thank you so much,Friends .

Well,it isn't asbestos: it's a very good news !!! (asbestos is a really fixation for me.I'm alot afraid of it ).
However,I'm going to do not use it ,above all after what said by Keith ( Propster ) about the dust inside and out on reels and lots of cleaning .
Logically,if you have any suggestions about to remove the dust, you will be welcomes.
