| I am in the early stages of planning a late october musky trip to nw ontario. We can't get into our normal camp as they close in september. We are looking at taking my truck camper and boat and hitting as many lakes as we can. Looking at mantiou, wabigoon, dinorwic, lac seul, cedar, eagle, and LOW. Anyone have info on locations of public ramps and conditions of them. Also, anyone have ideas for smaller lakes in the area for big wind days? Thanks! |

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | You'd have more options for lake hopping staying on Eagle I think. Canyon, Indian Chain, Corner,Cedar, Wabigoon would all be within an hour or so drive. Lac Seul is pretty isolated from other lakes....as would be LOTW for the most part besides a few options. |

| Merkels rv camp closes labor day weekend according to their website. Found a place on dinorwic and eagle open in october. Have no problem camping in the outback for a night or two before catching a shower. Lake access is my largest concern. |

| If you are going to try several lakes and don't mind pulling your boat out of the water each day, we went up late in the year to the Sioux Lookout area and just stayed at the Lamplighter Motel. It was about the only place open that time of year but it was dry, warm, fish cleaning area, restaurant onsite and centrally located to where we were fishing. But it's not on the water so had to pull the boat out each day. |
