Location: Pulaski, WI | Looks like really cold water for the WI southern opener. How are you going to target the fish? |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | After a week of running fyke nets for our Pewaukee Lake WTF(Walleyes For Tomorrow) walleye wagon we have only captured and quickly released a small number of muskies. We finished the walleye egg collection 4-23-14 with great results. About 5 million eggs are now fertilized and in our hatchery. In two or three weeks they will be let go into Pewaukee Lake.
My guess is the muskies will be in full spawning mode during the opener unless it warms up real quick.
water temps are in the mid to upper 40's.
Im going to target the aggressive male muskies with a more aggressive approach during the spawn. Then slow down my approach during the post spawn. |
