| I have two Garcia AB reels (got them when they had the 2-for-1 deal). I do not use the anti-backlash feature and would like to remove it completely from the reels. I have seen it mentioned on this board in the past, but was wondering if anyone could give me some more insight on removing this feature from the reels.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Take the screws out of the left side and remove the housing. you'll be able to see the AB stuff in there. you'll have to pull a retaining ring or 2, but it's pretty easy after that. |

| Thanks Treats, I'm going to try that on the one I have, too. |

| Will this allow me to remove that annoying little "switch" that is part of the anti-backlash also? |

| Hey Now,
These AB reels turn into pretty cool reels if you're a thumb-user, after the AB bar is removed. Nice big open space on the top of the reel.
I tore apart 5 of these after using one that Treats had on his boat.
Nice idea for a reel gimmick, though. I can hardly wait to test out the new C5 MagX.

| Tore two of mine apart last night. They are now much better reels with the AB bar removed.
