My dad has a 89 Bass Tracker with 3/4" pin style seat bases. They're kind of worn out and any post you put in there is kind of sloppy, also not a lot of good choices for different posts. Is there a way to upgrade the base to a different style where we're not going to have to to major surgery? A little bit of work is expected just don't want it to be too severe.

Just wondering what you guys would do.

I'm converting from wedge style to the Pin style up front.
I have a few reasons for doing so, but my biggest is ease of availability. Should I need to replace something I can buy the pin pedestals, bases/seat bases virtually anywhere including walmart, Meijer, and other super stores.

If I were you guys, I'd just change out the base for another 3/4 pin base.

I think you can swap them out pretty easy. I have the tapered type that come stock on a Lund. I've never had a reason to change, but probably just a case of some screws in and out.

I would think BassPro could help you with that.

I personally like the Springfield "Plug-In" style. The Lund taper locks get wedged in sometimes and can be a bear to get out.

I like those allot too. My last boat had them and pedestals are an easy in/out.
I would add that style but my plan when re-decking is to rout out the deck so it sits flush, then carpet over everything but the bushing. (and the other reasons mentioned)

Yep, just a bunch of screws. I went from the ¾ pin mounts to the 1.77" Snap-Lock
Bases. I found the pin Pedestals to be too wobbly.
