I'm heading to the Park Rapids area this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows what the water temps are on some of the lakes around there? If they're reasonable, I'm going to pull the boat with me and toss a few of the big baits.

Thanks

Mantrap was in the mid 70s on the 4th of July if I remember correctly. I'm sure it's over 80 by now. Not sure though.

Mantrap was 78 at 6am on July 29th.
Forecast is for heat the rest of this week.
Leech and Cass are slightly cooler.

Stayed on Mantrap all last week. 78 in the morning, and was usually 80-81 by afternoon.

Thanks for the tips.

I haven't had a chance to look at it on the GPS lakemap yet, but based on the DNR map, Mantrap looks like a pretty big, complicated lake and I'm only going to have one morning to fish.

Are there any areas I should key on? I'm not asking for secret spots or anything, just types of structure that typically hold fish on that lake.

Find the cabbage and you will find fish on Mantrap. There are several cabbage beds in the larger part of the lake and a large cabbage bed in Home Bay across from the 3M resort.

Email me at [email protected] if you want more info.
