What is the best technique for fishing Suicks, Hellhounds and Phantoms on a 9' rod? Can they be fished effiecently or will I be limiting myself?

Kind of hard to describe, but I'm using a sweeping motion "off to the side" rather than "down in front" motion".

Your thoughts?

You get used to the side sweeping thing, but man is it nice going back to a 7' or 7'6" for jerkbaits after bringing them in with 9 footers.

Personally, my 7'6" jerkbait rod and HS reel is so much more comfortable than using a 9'er. Not only is it lighter but I have better control and can make the lure do much more with a "down in front" motion.

just use the downward snaps to the side a little is all you have to do just like gregg showed in that vid. but if you are a tall person its not that much of a problem as per the short fisherman

I'm 6'7 and my predator sits off the water pretty high so I prefer the longer rod. My shortest musky rod is 8 ft.
