| Has anybody ever used the 10" grab rails from Cabela's mounted on the front gunnels of a Ranger 620vs for rod holders (Scotty's Orca's, reg. Scotty's or Flobe's). Not sure if I should use 10" or 22 1/2".

Location: South East Wisconsin | I do not have rails on my front gunnels. But in my opinion, I would guess you could have one rod holder mounted on a 10” rail. Whereas with the 22 ½” you could mount more than one. Longer rail gives you the option to adjust your rod holder’s front to rear unless you are dead set on your location. In the end it comes down to personal preference. |

Location: South East Wisconsin | Find the center of you gunnel. 1, Place the rail into position, (have a buddy hold the rail in place). 2. Mark the holes with a sharp object (ice pick). 3. Start out by drilling a small pilot hole (slow speed). 4. Increase the bit size to the hole you want drill. 5. Chamfer the hole. Some say you can chamfer the hole after step 3. I did it at the end and the hole was nice and clean. Make sure you are clear of any wires or anything else that may be inside the gunnel before you start drilling. Hope this helps. |
