| where can i find a case for my 1 piece rods? ive found the big bulky travel style cases but does anybody out there make a tube style case designed to hold one maybe two rods and thats long enough ? |

Location: Kodiak, AK | You need to shop around and ask around. I had a custom 2" tube made years ago for an experimental fly rod I built. Rod didn't work out so well, but I had a tube made for it regardless. I asked around and came across a guy that makes them to spec. Mine is like 7'6" or 7'9" and was like $80 shipped if memory serves. I don't remember the guy's name, but there's more than one guy that makes them. Start with Google of "aluminum rod tubes" and go from there. It took me a week or so of emails and asking about suppliers to get to the source, but it's out there. If I can run across his name I'll post it here. |

Location: Omaha, Nebraska | You could try making your own case out of PVC, I've seen that done before. It's not the fanciest, but it get's the job done. |

| i'll second the PVC... just put one together to get my 9'ers around it works like a dream and ocst about $26. Straps securely to any luggage rack on top of a vehicle and provides ample protection for the rods. Only thing i am working on is padding the end caps so as to prevent tip collisions with hard surfaces during transport. I used 4" so i can get a few rods in. A guy could probably paint the tube up for if needed. Also, a good idea to use rod slicks to protect the rods from each other and vibration. |

Location: Minnesota | Yep - I have a 4" PVC tube with screw on end caps on both ends. I can haul about 10 rods or so in it. You can just wrap the ends up with a small towel or rag to keep the tips from banging around on the ends. |
