There is LESS stretch in flourocarbon...somewhat stiffer though. Are you using it for trolling? I use it at times for leaders but haven't tried it for casting; I think they now have some out that is better designed for casting...about all I know![:sun:]

I have a lamiglas 6'10" huges river with a ct 400 filled with 40# flourocarbon leader material. This is the toughest line I have ever used.It has just the right amount of stretch to make certain baits go crazy.I also tie on flouro. leader 100# right to line with an albright special knot,no swivel. The downfall is this line has lots of memory.A couple shots of reel magic seems to do the trick.I have superbraids on my other rods but the flouro is my favorite, hands down......................IF MUSKIES HAD WINGS,THEY WOULD EAT ALL THE BIRDS

Flouro is ok and casts good. I have tried it. It does sink and has memory like you won't believe. It is very tuff and abrasion resistant. I use it for trolling but I may try it for casting again.

Looking to try this in a trolling application was looking to use 30# seagar,I like the thought of a little streach I think that some of those rips when trolling would be hookups instead of misses with braided line which can rip the hooks out on a short strike. How much memory does it have ? I hate dealing with line that looks like a "slinky" coming off the spoll thanks ARTIE

Fishman,I use 40# seagar. This stuff is the berries.I'm a caster, period. In the coarse of a 12hr. day I couldn't count how many times that line went off and onto my spool.I have learned this line after 3 seasons with it.If I only had one reason for using it,I'd say because of the limited stretch.Certain chop style baits, given a slack line jerk, accelerate faster and glide longer.I I I can't explain. Need to consult with ONEWHOSUCKSUPWATER
