Just got a 16n Trinidad and wanted to make shure of the line and any other need to knows from those of you that have one. I got 100 pound tuf-line for it and you are not supposed to spool them up all the way right? So how far exactly 3/4 or a 1/2 of the full spool thanks

1/8 of an inch shy of being full.

I use a Trinidad 14, and I started out with a nearly full spool, and took a few yards off at a time until I got to the point where the line didn't overfill the spool on one side if didn't manage it as it came in. I ended up with a little over 1/8th inch, maybe 3/16 underfilled. Obviously that will change with the 16N, but you could use the same technique. I just didn't want to underspool it and lose the retrieval speed that I paid for right off the bat if I didn't have to. It didn't take but an hour to figure out what was going to work for me.

With a 16N you have 48" of line pickup with a full spool, so 3/4 fill will give you about 38-39" of line pickup and you will able to cast without overruns. I would do what Knooter did and fill it about 90 % and take alittle off at a time till you get it right for you, for the first time. Also make sure you get the line on the reel as tight as you can.
