Location: central illinois | Anyone make their own lure retriever? If so, how and what did you use to make it? Is there a good one for sale anywhere that you would recommend? My favorite lure retriever ended up on the bottom of the lake last year with my lure and leader, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

| You may want to do a search. When I did, I found the following one with a couple of ideas, which I may try making for myself.

| What i did was buy a golf ball retriever at walmart a few years ago. At the time it was on sale for 3$ since then the price has became off "sale" and more money but it extends to like 16 foot.
What i do with it is extend it, lock it in place and take my line and pull a loop through the golf ball hole. open reel to free spool, and get the half of the loop that is connected to the bait tight (side to the reel needs slack) and slide the retriever down to the bait still holding the bait side of the line tight. when it hits the lure i work the retriever and the line in conjuction. I keep messin around with that till the bait comes free.
My little redneck setup has saved me quite a few times, but like every system some are not comin home with you. |

| Do a google search, I saw some kayak guy had a "plug knocker" as he called it. He rigged his rope to a small single clothesline reel. |
