Posts: 536 | Of course when muskie fishing people will obvouisly target big fish, but in my mind I am not neccasarily targeting them I am just trying to get numbers of fish because I am not that good and just trying to learn more about catching them! does this make sense or am I out of line and going about it wrong?

Posts: 2361 | Learning where they like to live and how to get them to eat are the key skills you need. Pete Maina was catching a hundred plus a season on Teal and Lost Lake, and you couldn't say he was targetting big fish on those waters. But obviously the skills learned there stood him in good stead as he widened his fishing horizons. With good basic skills. size becomes more a function of which waters you fish.
