Location: Marysville, Ohio | What do you think? This is a Crappie pattern. It's 4" in length and dives 4-6 feet. I also have a medium diver that will run 10 feet with 60 feet of line @ 4mph. All of my new ones will be done thru wire. I just got the wire today. Any feedback would be great.

| Interesting. The crappie pattern looks good. Although I'm not into making lures, I find it interesting to see what others are doing. Your comment about "thru wire" makes me feel you had some problems not doing that. Any comments??
Your panfish profile looks great for those lakes having white bass and crappie. I like those 3D eyes and the expoxy coating looks like it will protect the paint job. Looking good to me.
Have you ever considered making your lure into a jerk or glide bait?

Location: Marysville, Ohio | I haven't had any problems with screw eyes epoxied in, but it seems like everyone "wants" thru wire these days because it is much stronger and less chance of losing a trophy. THe lure that is pictured was made out of pine, but I have made some out of western red cedar and when I get my planer for Christmas, I am going to make some out of PVC.
They weigh 1.9oz. I have added .25 oz of weight in the belly.
As far as a jerk / glider, I make some gliders that are not on my website yet, but I may try making this profile into a glider. I would not use a soft wood, but would use Lyptus which is what i use for my gliders.

Location: Rhinelander. | I had the same comments when I made the zig zag bait about the screw eyes. Never had one pull out or had someone tell me they did. It would have to be really a soft wood for it to happen or an error in production. predrilled holes tp big or something. I don't think wire thu is needed on alot of the baits. It sure makes for more work.
