| Dude(s)...in the process of thawing out the summer deer stick I just located in the back of the freezer that you loaned me from Cave Run---> I think Landy said to hang in for a day in a cabinet....what next...do I keep in the fridge + whack off a hunk now + again? | Sponge, after you thaw them out leave them in the fridge. They will shrivel up like a prune if you don't.

Yep, Hang it for a day to dry a little after you thaw it. Then, cut off what you want. Don't cut the string off! When you've had enough, put it in a plastic bag, or container, and pop it back in the fridge. Excellent with extra sharp cheddar![:p]
Hint. The end is the best part.
Now, if you could find some Cranberry Mustard, that would just about be the rat's a$$![:bigsmile:]

| Thanks dudes...+ yes I did par boil them + put them on my NEW grill! And the daggone things were AWSOME!!! Little sponge had a field day w/ them; I took a couple of them, chopped them up + made dirty rice....not 1 grain left either...threw the "heat" to it + spiced it up some. I also bought a new Fry Daddy...blew me last one up last yr by pouring a sack of frozen okra in it. Looking forward to the sausage...that stuff you guys had a Cave Run was excellent. Hope everyone can get back down this spring![:sun:] |

| Dude, hung it up overnight + couldn't keep the miniature sponge away from it! Brother came by last night + I cut him off a chunk to take home + then little dude + I ate a few slices...stuff is daggone good. I'll take some to the office tomorrow for sampling but that stuff is too good to set out for the co-workers who don't ski fish...[;)] thanks again! |
