My fishing partner has lost/missed a couple fish recently because the drag had loosened itself between fishing trips or over the course of a day fishing. Not sure how it is happening, just know he set the drag, didn't adjust it afterwards, and when he went to set the hook on a fish line peeled off because the drag was too loose.

I've noticed the same thing on mine. I'm not sure how it happens but the drag definitely loosens itself over time. Never had any similar issues with other reels. Really weird.

Not a big deal as long as you check it as I do, but my buddy isn't too happy right now. Lost an upper-40's this morning because of it. Love the reel so far, just something to be aware of.

Anyone else experiencing this?

DO you back off the drag when not in use?

Oil or Grease might have gotten into the platers as well. Could check that.

Same thing happened to me earlier this year. And i too lost a BIG fish because of it.

Then when i opened it up the first time it had excessive water in between the drag washers and all over in the reel. But honestly that has been the least of it's problems. (For me anyway) After a while mine started squeaking and i think i finally figured out what the deal is with it. Hope this helps all you guy's having this problem.
Inside the Side plate where the Race is, is a small round bushing (Part 92) that the Spool shaft rides on. It get's worn and allows the spool to move to far towards the race resulting in the two making contact. I have some pic's here of the side of my spool and you can see the ring worn in it from it making contact with the race. It all comes down to that little bushing. If you flip it over to the other side, problem solved, but i'm sure it wont be long until it wears all the way through, and needs to be replaced. Mine is only 3 monthes old and i just can't believe how fast it wore out. Here's the pic's

I don't back off the drag on my reels when not in use, I use them 4-5 days per week. Should I be backing the drag off each time?

Both of our Revo's are less than a month old if that is relevant. I have no idea what platers are.

I always back off the Drag when not in use. It is good practice to do so as it helps pro-long the life of the washers. -( Platers)
Just make sure you get in the habit of cranking the drag back down. And what i've noticed with these Toro's is you need to really CRANK them down tight or they WILL slip.

Yeah, you should back them off when not in use. The washer (platers) and drag disc can get compressed and then the effectiveness wears out.

I replaced my Abu with the Carbon fiber upgrade from Mike's reel repair and now my drag locks down tight and will not move. I also make sure no contaminates get into the discs at all.....
