Subject: "first legal"


Perhaps that phrase and the term "legal" in general should really be discussed...In today's age of CPR, these terms might actually give someone the idea that they actually have a "legal" right to keep a fish...as if....so perhaps it is time to kill this tradition or our poor muskies will be the ones that suffer....BR

I think they would have a "legal" right to keep the fish if they wanted right.??? I just view it as WI fisherman thing???.... saying they caught something bigger than a "dink"...kind of like in Iowa we say I passed on a small Pope and Young this morning and my buddies know it was a 130-140" deer

Up at AML last week, and was able to say a few times that I saw a "Legal on Eagle"!!

I hear you, I cannot really help it:)....with all the talk of boga grips, I figured the vernacular might be actually dangerous in comparison to the boga...words such as "legal" are a powerful and promote permission....Ben

Regardless of what we believe, the DNR defines and enforces what is legal. On my lake in Wisconsin, 37 inches is "legal" and it doesn't matter if we don't agree. If a 37 inch or greater is kept, it's legal. End of story.
