Location: East TN | I was just curious as to how most of you work a jake? Seems the larger ones(10" & 14" verisons, most people troll with) most people troll with, but i'm curious on the 8" version? I have two of these, and i've probably had most of my luck on this bait(orange tiger). Most of the time, I will work it like a jerkbait...making it dart erratically through the water on the retrieve. Is this the "norm" for this bait, or do most of you just straight reel on the retrieve basically like a crankbait? |

Hard snaps with a miniscule amount of slack works best. I haven't really tossed the newer 8" baits but I know a lot of the originals had the same profile and thickness as a 10, but it was just trimmed and molded shorter. Which in essence, probably made it run more erratic. |

| I like to pull it hard n let it rise and repeat. Its have a nice erratic action when pull hard. Haven't try twitchin them yet but will do this year. |

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Bubba - It is a more lively bait than a 10" and depending on how the pull, snap or twitch it will do different things - there's no wrong way. By adding a little weight to the middle split ring you can get it moving even more. They troll well too and can be tuned pretty easily, I've had them running up to 6 mph w/o a problem. |
