Subject: First Time Winter Lure Building

First and foremost I want to thank all the great basement builders on this site for the inspiration. I decided to try my hand at making some baits this winter as well as a bump board. I'm very happy how everything turned out and I owe it all to the people on this site. I just started musky fishing last summer but I feel like I have learned many years worth of information on this site in a matter of months. Check out the baits and tell me what you think.

Loving the baits they look alittle like a muskie treat. You'll have to let us know when they get bit.

Very nice for a first-timer or anybody.
Stick with it, I think you will be happy with the lures you made.
Another one "born in the basement and never brought up."

I'm really looking forward to seeing them in the water. The bathtub does not tell a guy much other than floating or sinking and making sure they don't lay on the side. Some are weighted more than others so I'll see what ones work. I really had fun making them from the rough cutting to the belt sander to the weighting and the painting.
Once again, thanks to all the basement builders here I felt like I knew exactly what I was doing before I even started. From airbrushing with Createx to finishing with Envirotex - I could not have done it without the MuskieFIRST community.

All this insperation is costing me a fortune! The bump board is really nice. What are your materials?

For the bump board I used 1/2" red oak. Sealed the wood first, then painted, applied stickers and cleared over. All stainless hardware. Baits are all made out of hard maple except for the top crankbait which is pine.
