Location: South-Central VA | I'm painting some lures for a buddy that fishes the Wisconsin River. What color patters work best up there? If you could show me some pictures or links I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

Location: north central wisconsin | It really varies depending on which section of the river you'll be on. Far north, it is bog stained, with pretty good visibility. Down south, where influenced by more runoff streams in varied farm soils, added industrial waste, and summer algal blooms, the water has more suspended solids and has less visibility. If you could give me the stretch he fishes, and the landing he uses, I could better help decide on the color....hehehe. Just kidding. You won't go wrong with bright/'hot' stuff, with the carp/walleye/sucker/ tones always safe too.

| Hot colors work well, also a carp pattern works well for farther down in the wausau area of the river |

| Brown, black and orange combinations are always great combos. It also depends on what stretch and what time of year. The water clarity is drastically different in spring and fall verse summertime. While I commonly use bright colors like a firetiger Depthraider during the summer, I am quick to change to colors like walleye or sucker in the fall. Feel free to email me at any time regarding this.
