| Does anyone have any info on muskie spots in PA. I have never fished them before would love to start. Any info would be a great help.. Thanks! |

| By reputation and by most anglers' experience the best muskie fishing is in the northwest part of the state. Crawford County is where I would go. Pymatuning Reservoir and Tamarack Lake would be my first two choices. (Tamarack is electric motor only.) These are dark water lakes; sometimes too dark. Woodcock Creek Lake--a federal dam project--has nice water. Conneaut Lake might be worth trying after the summer season. The middle portion of the Allegheny River--from the Kinzua dam down to Interstate 80 would be worth exploring. The Allegheny Reservoir in Warren County has a lot of deep water; and perhaps some very big fish; but the numbers are very low. I wouldn't go there unless I just wanted to experience a deep, hill country reservoir.
Most folks will tell you that the fall season is the best. I would guess from Sept. 15 on. |

Good luck, PA is a growing muskie area and has some really great lakes and rivers...East and West!
Just my 2 cents, the best fishing in PA is in the Susquehana or Allegeny rivers. Hire a good guide and hit the rivers, good luck.
