Heading up to Vermilion's East side end of July (Wish I was on the M1st outing next week too!)
In getting advice about Vermilion, esp the East, I get alot of "Vermilion's crowded, but just avoid the community spots that everyone fishes" So I'm looking at the map and wondering, what are those spots? Where do the "Congo Lines" happen? I want to avoid those spots at all costs!
Thanks for the help,
W

Anything that looks good on the map will have a "congo line". Reefs, points, narrows, etc. etc.

If you want to find less pressured areas... you'll have to wait till you get there to find them.

Good luck... its a wonderful place to be.... crowds or not.

Depending on how many people will travel there this summer, pretty much any of the big reef, Island with fingers, will be a line up and cast. There is stuff that is not hit by alot of people, but they are not going to give that info up. Fishing mainlake non descript shoreline might be the last un covered water. Fish what looks good.

Anyplace with a waypoint listed on Lakemaster paper map will have a waiting line to fish. If you get on one just before sunset plan on camping on it for the night b/c if you leave it you won't get onto another one.

It was the full moon this past week, was up there for the Hartman Tourney and if you did not have that tournament going on I would have seen maybe 5 boats fishing the west side. Even during the tournament I could basically fish were I wanted. I don't think as many people are traveling this year. If it looks good chance it holds a fish, dissect a map and find some off the beaten path spots, it's more rewarding that way any way. Good Luck!
