| ...anyone have any Exxperience with them? Thinking, seriously, about getting a rod just for swimbaits, seeings as I start to use them more and more. Would be nice to have a rod action that is catered to the size, heft, and action of the baits.
The other rod that I'm considering for the purpose is the 8'6" XH Okuma. |

Location: Iowa Great Lakes | Mines a 7' 10" Fast 30-60 line 1-6 oz lure. I got it from Thorns shipped $238. I didnt see that rod listed of I would have gotten it. |

| The 7'10'' is from the g-loomis musky series, fast action, the swimbait series is basically a salmon backbouncing rod mod/fast action, they load a little better with bulky, heavy baits, with a mod/fast action you won't get as much ''lure tumbling'' on the cast, and maybe added distance, the swimbait series G-L offers come 7'6''med, 7'11''mh,7'11''h & 7'11''xh, they also offer a couple back bounce rods in 8',the BB964 12-25 1-6, and BB965 2-8,17-40 I build custom rods , and a built up BB965 makes a great rod for swimbaits& big twitchbaits, the mod/fst action really aids in throwing heavier lures that like to tumble and run a cast, I also heard G-L was revamping their entire musky line.

| I heard the same, about the revamp. It was to include some new lengths and actions, and possibly a new line of Swimbait/plastics rods included in their muskie series. I have several Loomis rods, and like them an awful lot. I've always been treated well by them, and wouldn't mind giving a swimnait rod a chance. |
