Here is something I would like, perhaps someone can tell me if it exists:

I fish only one lake. I would like to be able to load a detailed map of that lake into a handheld GPS to show me breaklines and spots I do not already know about as well as be able to mark spots I have had sucess on.

I would also like to be able to use the GPS in the car from time to time to get driving directions.

Any recommendations?

Check out the Lowrance Iway 600c or the new Lowrance XOG. You can use them in the car for turn by turn directions and can also put Lakemaster and Navionics chips in them for your lake maps.

I have the Lowrance H20C with a lakemaster chip. It works GREAT for both functions. There are however different grades to how detailed each lake is mapped. For example a bigger, more common lake like mille lacs will have depth contours every 5 feet with high detail and stumps marked etc. where a smaller lake may not even have depths marked. You should check the list online or at the store. You can check if your lake is detailed or not. If it's a large lake (1000+ acres), chances are, you'll be ok.
What lake will you be fishing on?

I run a Lowrance Expedition C handheld with a Navionics map chip, it covers SD, ND, IA, MN, WI and MI with 1' contours on many many lakes. You can also make your own chips with a map create sotware to customise your road and city maps chip.

Thanks.

I will be fishing Lost Land Lake and Teal Lake (they are connected) near Hayward.

My chip shows both those lakes in high detail (5 foot contours with all roads) It's the Wisconsin Lakemaster map
