| Just snapped my min kota maxxum pull cord. Whta type of cord do i need to replace it? I used what i had in the boat and it was way too elastic and wouldnt disconnect the mount in order to stow it . |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Where did you snap the cord, in the middle. or at the knot? I did the same thing when I had my maxxum, but it snapped at the knot. So all I did was retie the rope. Otherwise, get a hold of Minn Kota or a service center and they can get you a new one. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | just buy some rope at the hardware store and re-tie. it isn't a "special" rope, it's a rope ... almost broke my neck when i fell after breaking mine ...
oh, and always keep some extra rope in the boat for next time it happens. worst case if you have no rope connected you can use a long-nosed plier to stow and deploy ... lol ... did that for almost a whole season and it actually works pretty well once you get used to it. |

Aren't there a few quirks about your particular Maxxum that now take some getting used to? Have you tried left-footed? Might make everything seem right again...

Location: minocqua, wi. | yow .... that would be a great pre-employment stress test. fish the rocks in the wind with a trolling motor with a backwards cable ... if you can do that then you can handle almost any stressful situation. it's all mind over matter and finding your zen center again!!! |

| I will try to get ahold of a Merc rep. The rope i had in the boat has too much stretch and wouldnt release from the mount. I need a good stiff rope and i am having trouble finding one.
And yes, i almost went flying out of the boat when it snapped. Unfortunately it snapped in the middle so it really isnt reusable. |
