Posts: 3480 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hi Everyone, Been playing with mapquest a bit on this just to see what routes it takes me on. Problem is, mapquest is only a guide which takes into account the speed limit, and we all know that most do not follow the speed limit and things move faster. What is the most efficient way to get there? Interstate 35 to hwy 8 and up 51, or go west on interstate 94 to hwy 29 then up 51? Or...any other directions faster? I will be starting out on the north end of the Twin Cities... I know I am looking at a 4-1/2 hour drive or so, but I hate stoplights and I hate sluggish traffic, so any help/direction you can supply would be great!! Thanks Steve

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | i do the ride constantly ... live in minocqua with a customer in the cities .... 94-29-51-M is the best .... if you like small towns and scenery there are two or three more routes that look quicker, but 70mph. on cruise with 4-lanes beats them all ... i can set the clock to 3 hours and 15 minutes to the airport in mpls. from minocqua ... and miss plus or minus a minute or 2
