Hi,

I'm going to buy a new boat soon. I would like opinions on when is the best time to buy.

Thanks,

I think there are good times to buy all year 'round. Alot of it depends on whether you are buying new or used. Alot of very nice factory team boats go out cheap over the late fall, winter, and spring months. Be certain that you know that the boat was taken care of. It is pretty easy to spot a beat up boat.

The most important piece of advice I can give you? Watch the market and the prices, and have your money ready, so you are ready to pull the trigger immediately when you find one that you know is a good deal.

The marine industry is WAY off this year, (by over 40%!!)and it is a buyers market, right now. You will find dealers eager to deal on 2001 models especially.

Hey, I'm ready to buy. Anyone got some sweet deals going on that I should know about? A 2001 would be fine with me. Ranger, Crestliner, Lund, Champion, Tuffy, or whomever. Best deal gets my money!!!

Man, do I have a deal for you!!! 17? 17 1/2? 20''? How big a rig? Seriously, things are very ''soft'' in the fishing boat business right now, and it is a buyers market, period.

The company I work for is not raising their prices for 2002 for awhile, and is offering incentives to the dealer to spark some activity out there. Most of our competition is doing the same.
