| One tip is to use cutters to remove the lead keeper barb and entire collar off the jig head. When the rubber splits, squirt super glue into the crack, squeeze it shut for a few minutes and it will make the nose of the lure pretty solid. It will also stick butted up to the lead head well. If the point of the hook isn't far enough back for your liking in the body, you can wire in a stinger hook closer to the tail too. |

Location: Rhinelander. | I've found the only way to get the placement I want is to cut the shad in half lengthwuse and place the hook in it and then I use a lighter and melt together or use superglue.
