Location: Alsip, Il | I just got back from Indiana, a week ago surface water tempitures were 62 to 64 degrees, yesterday late afternoon water tempiture was 80.4!!!!!!! I know we had some hot weather but man that is a big jump, we still moved fish and I got a 41 incher. But, what possible effects? Fish was caught near surface or high in the water column and released with no problems, but if temptures stay high I really don't want to stop fishing those lakes, unless I have to this soon. Suggestions? Thanks, Al |

Location: Eagan, MN | Location can already be weird this time of year, hoping the recent hot spell will persuade some of the big post-spawn females to move shallow. I'll be out on Tonka saturday morning for the opener. I think we'll see some interesting reports, and I'll post mine, too.
Water temps around here were very cool a week or two ago, and I suspect the recent weather has only really heated the surface. I'll be checking temps at various depths this year to get a better idea of how this all works out.
Luke --- does the IN or IL DNR say warm water does NOT affect cpr success, or are they just saying that they don't have proof that it does?

Location: oswego, il | Alan, lake temps jump around 20 degrees up north in 6 days on stained lakes. Luckily, weather will cooperate, not calling for anything over 75 degrees for the next week with lows in the mid 50's down this way. |

| Fish in IL do die during high temps. They just do not want to create a closed season..However a quick jump in surface temp should not be an issue...prolonged high temps are very problematic..Ben |
