Location: Bloomington, MN | I guess I'm just "Post Happy" tonight! I have had a good 4 days and want to share my excitement about a Muskie 1st Sponsors' product (I don't need this site to disappear again!). My friend and I have boated 6 fish in the last 4 days (all under 40", no biggies) with just a couple of hours put in each day. We raised a very large fish and caught a 39" on the 2nd day. The fish went easily into the 7+ year old medium sized Beckman net. The unhooking wasn't that bad, but we ended up with a couple of split fins. I just thought about the classic line from the movie JAWS, "We need a bigger boat/net!", when thinking about the BIG one we just had up. I purchased the 2nd largest Frabill that Thorne Bros. had available the next day(Sorry, I don't have the item #). I've always owned Beckman's, but the snap in handle without trying to find the hole (has always been a problem in my life), flat bottom, and rubber tangle free coating, made 4 more super quick CPR's (I know, a Bobby M. copyright) a pleasure for us and much easier on the fish! Upgrade your net, before you upgrade your reel or buy more lures than you could possible toss in a week. Worth the coin?...You betcha!!!! |

Kuddo's to you dude for making the investment in a top quality landing net... Easier for you and much easier on the fish... Not as much fun as buying a new reel or a handful of baits but if your honorable towards proper release methods it's a must-have... Frabill makes a great product line, congats on your new purchase it'll last you for many many years.

getting a good net IS as fun as a new reel or lures!
i figure that whenever the net is getting used, that means there's a fish coming in, and well, let's just say i have a lot of lures that don't even know what a fish is.
i got one of the big (not huge) coated Frabills this year and i love it. |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | I have 3 Beckmans with the old style yoke. Walleye, Northern and husky Musky. The Husky has the Finsaver bag. The Northern net has landed many a Musky for me with no problems.. Just got the Husky wet for the 1st time last weekend, Bigger is better. Since I never had trouble with the Northern net I did not think the difference would be that much. was suprised... The newer Beckmans I think have a easier to work Yoke then the older ones. Quality Musky nets, whether Beckman or Frabill are a must have for Musky Fisherman serious about releasing them healthy. |
