| Heading up to Hayward in the morning. Plan to arrive around 7:00 AM. The boy is not coming with, so if you're interested, I have room in the boat. If you're interested, reply with your e-mail addy. I'm at the mother-in-laws, and don't have access to my e-mail. I'll get back to you.
Still looking for large suckers near Hayward. Anybody got any info? Any on the way up maybe? I'll be coming up 94 from Mauston, through Eau Claire. Any help is appreciated.
Later,

| I would definately be interested in fishing with you. Hayward would be my best guess for large suckers in this area. I just called a couple shops in Chetek, they only have a few smaller ones. Rainbow in Rice lake is closed today, but the few that they usually have are small. I just got back from a five day trip to Oneida and Vilas counties. I know Rollies has xtra large suckers, but that is the long way up for you. Winter is about an hour west of Minocqua on 70. I'll keep checking this board today to see if you reply or you can call me at (715) 736-0740. Thanks much. |

| Hi Greg,
I'm still planning on coming up in the morning. We should get together. Do you live near Hayward? I'll try to call you around 9:00 PM.
I'm planning on leaving the Mauston area around 3:30 AM. That should put me there around 7:00 or so.
Talk to you soon,

| Met up with Greg in Stone Lake this AM, after searching for some decent suckers. None to be found, so I got some that may have made it to 12" at Hayward Bait & Tackle. Started out a little slow, but Greg got it started with a nice 36 around 9:45, off the weed edge in 8' on a quick strike sucker(minnow, hehehe). Then it was my turn. Got a nice fat 37 in 26', on a circle hook, a little after noon. Greg got the last fish of the day around 3:30, again on a quick strike, about 35", in 15'. All fish were strong, beautifully marked, and released to add some more length and weight. No follows seen on baits.
I would like to have seen how we would have done with some jumbo suckers. I gotta a feeling that we may have gotten some bigger fish. Oh well. Had a great time, 'cept for some stale gas, or a bad plug, in the beginning. Afterwards, we met up with Mr. Dorazio hisself, for a pop, and some catching up on the latest news.
Greg, it was fun fishing with you. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Thanks for the burger and beers. We'll do it again next year, I'm sure.
Tight lines all, and good luck tomorrow Dave. Hope ya don't get too wet!

| Thanks again Shep, had a great time. Definately interested in going with you again next season. This was the third meeting I had with a person from the boards. Since coming here in July, I have learned quite a bit and met some great fishing partners. Thanks to Todd Williamson, JoMusky, and Shep. I have a post on MC for the end of the season, hope to meet up with a 4th musky nut to end the year with a nice one, just need to break the 40" mark, thats all I need to sleep this winter, the 50 can come later.
p.s., the MC post is under 'Fish4Musky", working on getting the same monicer on all boards, even I'm getting confused, lol. Thanks again.
