Location: God's Country......USA..... Western Wisconsin | I use the Calcutta 251 for most all of my Muskie set ups. This is the LEFT HAND version of the Calcutta 250. I think that the 250 should do nicely for you as it is smaller than the 400 series. I have not had any problems with the ones that I own and use. Hope this helps a bit in your decision. |

Location: oswego, il | I have a 400 and like it. The one thing I do not like about the 250 is the levelwind disengages on a cast. That might be ok for smaller lures but i have had it cause problems for me on bigger stuff with other reels that do the same. I would like to see a calcutta 300 made that keeps the level wind engaged on a cast. |

Location: north central wisconsin | my buddy Chuck Schauer is probably the poster child for Calcutta abuse(can't think of anyone with more fish on one reel). He uses a 250 and loves them, disengaging level wind or not. |

Location: NeverNever Lake | I have 2 CT400's, a TE400 and a CT250.
The 250 has performed flawlesly. I swapped the gears out for 6.3:1 when it was brand new. I also changed the drag washer for a Dartanium like what comes on the 400's.. All the bearings on the 250 are the same size as the 400s. I recommend it! |
