| "Secrets of a Muskie Guide" by Tony Rizzo was instrumental in my muskie fishing. Because of the book, my brother and I were very fortunate to have fished with him 3 times when we were younger. While we were on vacation in Vilas Co, my parents would go shopping and get away while Tony was our babysitter for the day! My parents also knew that we had muskies in our blood when we were in grade school. We went with Tony 3 years in a row and never caught a fish! But we learned a lot from him, and I use a lot of the same principals to this day. I would say this book sticks out to me more than any other - at least to me. But "Muskies on the Shield" was also very good as far as a "how to" book. "Time on the Water" was a great read also - even though it was not much as far as a "how to" help guide. All are good books and worth reading in my opinion! |

Location: Brighton CO. | My part of the house can pass as a tackle shop and book store, I have all the great fishing books from the 70's to the present.
Rizzo, Bucher, and Rose all those In-fisherman, hot spot books. Musky Mastery, Time On The Water. We fished in Minaki for six years from 2000-4 and part way thru dad read my Muskies On The Shield and we were dialed in and the big fish came. My dad also read all my Greg Bohn Slip bobber books and he would go to a local lake we a bunch of fishing clubs around town anchored Christmas together on the ice then went fishing in the spring and catching fish hand over fist no one else was catching anything and the boats would crowd in closer and closer and would catch nothing. |

Location: Brighton CO. | I bought a lot of books over the years as they came out, and some other ones came out and were not available to me and I missed them. With Amazon, E-Bay, used book outlets ECT you can find a lot of out of print books. You can get a good deal too however others depending on condition can cost you hundreds. Over the last few years I've got some really good books and out of production lures or colors of lures they don't make anymore. There's some stuff I missing I would die for. |
