Boy I wish some folks have used these babys. I was this close to one of their lo-profile jobbies. The Sculptor, also 12 bearings, sure looks nice. Maybe not up to Muskie specs but pike and bass. I was chicken on somthing I knew nothing about. The only thing that bugged me was I think they are made in China or Tiwan or somthing.

lobi,

Some darned fine reels are made in Korea,China, and Japan. That shouldn't be an indication of quality, the schematic should.

I had a CT or CM (same size as Abu 6500) series a few years ago. Was supposed to have the same gears as Calcuta's. It was a smooth reel however my hands are much more comfortable with the Abu-5600 type size of reel. That being said I sold the Tica but far as I know the guy still uses it regularly with no problems.

Only problems I heard about was that they had a few bad anti-reverse bearing issues but it was in limited numbers and has been corrected.

I haven't used one yet, but will be using one this summer. They are smooth, and I hope they workout well. I will be purchasing the 201 CM.

Plitzzzzz, i have a Caiman CT Series (TICA)...i have not used it much..but it has seems to be a high quality reel, out of the box. It seems a little heavy, but maybe i'm wrong. i'm not sure what size it is, but it's same as a 6500 ABU. I can tell you this, mine does hold up as well as a $100 abu does. It has a thumb bar and a star click drag, like a calcutte TE. Seems like an OK reel, i just put it on a rod i dont' use much, so i didnt' use it much. however, it's getting swaped over to one of my favorite rods this spring!
