| This is a VERY VERY new message board system, and although I don''t anticipate many problems with registration(we tested extensively), you just never know.

Right now, I do not have a cookie set on your machine to recognize you when you come back to the site. Therefore, in order to post under your user name, you have had to log in. You can do that anytime, or you can just wait until you post to fill in the info. If the general opinion is to change this option in the future, I can do so.
To post anonymously, you must leave the username "anonymous" in the username field (it will be defaulted that way), and just leave the password blank. You can only post anonymously using the username "anonymous", so be sure to sign the bottom of the message if you want people to know who you are. We do this to encourage registration, but also want to leave the option to post anonymously open for those who choose to do so.

Zach, I made a reference to this on another post, but check out the message boards @ www.sportbikes.net. This seems like it's VERY similar in technical construction, and it might give you a couple ideas for smoothing things out, making them more user-friendly, etc. They've got great face/emoticon things. Labeling the face/emoticon things for the emotion they are representing might be good for those of us who can be sarcastic from time to time so we don't inadvertantly start any brawls and stuff.
PS. I LOVE the light/businesslike colors. I dare say that at-work viewing of the site should be at least 50% safer. It looks very serious and official. |
