Read through some old posts and decided i need to add some Flaptails as they are something I have never used and know very little about.

Anyone have any particular ones they like?

I have 3. They pretty much run the same. Dead as far as action. It's the noise that gets them bit. Maybe pick up a couple different makes. Some are more clanky and some more subtle with a bloop. Good to have both.

The Joel Wick flaptail has always been the gold standard of them all but I think he has a couple year wait or maybe not taking anymore orders.

I make two versions. One with the bloop, single blade. And one with the clink, two blades. Mine also will walk the dog.

There are many good options out there. I have 5 or 6 from Joel. They work well. I have a few from Ron and Leo Marketti that are great. I have a few that I picked up at various shows that are not as nice.

Its most important how you fish them......slow then slow down especially after dark. The slower you can get the tail to rythmically plop the better. Its the rythm that gets them. Flaptails are special when fished correctly. Snoddy bare you listening?
