| Any guys running pro guides how high is your motor on the transom? Just ordered a pro guide 1675 putting an E-tec on it-want to get that motor as high as I can and hopefully run a 17 pitch prop. I'd like to see it in the high 30s.
Any info and tips would be greatly appreciated thanks guys tight lines |

Any more info on the rig? What horsepower did you go with?
If maxed out at 75 (assuming you have purchased new) I would go to the second highest setting and get a decent prop on it upgraded from the standard aluminum.
I would say if you can find a Raker propeller, you will have a rig that will perform well under all conditions and stay hooked up at trim on turns. My gut instinct says you should be able to swing a 17 with max HP, but that will all be figured out after your first run with it.
That'll be a great rig!! Congratulations on a new ride!!

| Sorry so it is a Etec 60 high output three cylinder like the 75 slightly higher gear ratio 2.36 to 1 as opposed to 2.00 to 1. I have a Apollo stainless 17 pitch on it now . Reusing the Outboard from my last boat Alumacraft competitor. |

If the 175, I'm betting you will be close. That higher gear ratio gives that motor a lot of low end grunt which is really nice. The old 1999 Johnson 50hp 2 stroke had a 2.42:1. That was a great motor for weight...

The competitor was a 165 tiller it had max 70 so this was the biggest I could put on that hull. I had one open hole above the top bolt so second hole down it would do 5200 RPM 36 to 39 mph. I thought about raising it a hole to try to get more RPM and speed but ended up trading it in anyway. On that hull it would plane almost instantly.
The 1675 Lund pro guide is slightly wider longer and heavier plus it has ips
16'7 87 beam 920lb vs 16'9" 90 beam 1080lb w/ ips

More hull bottom will mean more friction, so it will definitely be slower... You are jumping 160 pounds in weight so that is quite minimal. If you have the motor mounted in it's highest position you might be close...
If the 17 cannot work, you could either take it to a prop shop where they can adjust the pitch down up to 2", or a replacement, which most likely would not be much more...
