| I am running a 225 hp Merc Verado on a Ranger 619 FS. I want to add a jack plate, and I wonder the best set back. I am thinking 6", but I am not sure. Any help is appreciated. |

I would say you could go anywhere from 6" to 10", although the further back you go, the lower the rear of the boat will sit. If you are looking to have the ability to adjust the motor on the fly only, then all you would need is a 6". If you are looking to do as much as you can for performance, then go further back.
The verado is a big engine, so it will make a big difference in how the boat sits in the water at rest...

| Ranger restricts jackplate size on 600 series boats and I believe it is 6". You might want to consider that if you have any warrantee left.
Correction...4" on the 2019 warranty. Warranty exclusion #8. Please check yours.

| Call Ranger and ask them what the best performance plate there is. They will point you in the correct direction. I believe the last one I did on a 14' 620 was an 8" Bob's Hydraulic per Ranger's reccomendations |
