| Not too early...I generally throw more mags than pounders in June but there are times the pounder/more depth/bigger profile is the ticket |

| imo not at all! the lil bait for spring is just a bs theory.small baits work all year long same thing for big one.i don't think there is more fingerling than adult during spring and even if it wouldn't be the case why a musky wouldn't grab an adult perch because there is more lil guys ? |

Agreed, I think a musky would prefer a adult perch over a 2" one any day. most Likley easier to catch too. |

| when looking at the different season, i wonder , when do big pike/muskie not eat big prey?
In winter there is the cisco spawn, meaning lots of big fatigued prey fish available
In spring there is the muskie/pike spawn followed by the perch/generic baitfish spawn, again meaning lots of big fatigued prey fish available
And in fall, big pike/muskie are trying to fatten up and will generally not hesitate to target big prey items
Maybe summer is the exception? |
