Getting a new rig and putting in 2 Helix 9's. Both will be networked. My question is this, do I need a lake chip in each unit like I did for my Lowrance units. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure you only need one chip.

I believe they each need a chip. Networking will share one GPS waypoints, routes but ypu still need a chip for each unit

I have 2 helixs 9's. love them but to answer the question you need a chip for each unit. Did t realize that myself. They do link waypoints, tracks etc... very nice and easy to use units
