Been looking around and reading old threads on the Tuffy 1700 on here, comparisons to the 1760, likes/dislikes, etc...

Who on here is running a 1700? Anyone purchase a new one in the past few years? I'd love to hear more recent thoughts on this boat.

Currently run aluminum boat that is about the same dimensions as the 1700 (1700 is few inches wider and longer) and flipping over to glass and being able to double HP would be awesome in the console. Also appealing to keep a boat that is on the smaller size for towing, storage but still big enough to fish bigger water and wind.

If you have pictures, let's see them!

Go console and get a 115 or 135. If you're looking for the ability to fish bigger water, you'll want the speed and holeshot from the higher HP. 1700 is not a big boat, but it's not small either, and the rating it has for a tiller usually leaves people...unfulfilled.

Big water, the console is sure nice. I am a smaller lake guy and love the tiller.

I'd personally save the money on a bigger motor, and get a bigger boat. Go with the 1760 or 1890 in a tiller.

Had both a 1700 and a 1760. The 1760 may not look much different on paper, but it is an all around much bigger boat. I would definitely save for the 1760 if I was you. The single console in a g-series would be my choice

I agree WHOLE-HEARTEDLY to this. I have run both also and the 1760 is just ALOT MORE BOAT. I really like mine.
