| Running new Helix units on my boat. Fish WI 90% of the time. Canada 5%. Minnesota 5%. With Navionics looks like I can run one chip for all 3 like I did with my Lowrance years ago. But with Lakemaster looks like I would need 3 chips. But have heard lakemaster is the one to run. Help making the right choice is appreciated. Thanks.

| Don't know about Navionics maps being shared over the network...the Canadian one I have does not work that way.
I have the Lakemaster WI v. 6 (and 5 and 4...) and if you fish "hi-def" lakes, it's really the best I've seen. I also have the WI Lakemaster Plus, and being able to see satellite views of the shore line is useful info at times.
I've run the Lakemaster Lake of the Woods/Rainy Lake high deff maps the last couple of years - they are as good as the WI maps. I just purchased the Lakemaster Plus for LOTW and Rainy...I expect it to be as good as the WI maps too.
There are so many features you can use that I'd find it hard to go back to Navioncs even though I don't have any issues with them...but with Lakemaster being part of Humminbird these days, the integration is really good...and I run an Ulterra with iPilot and Link, which kicks things up another notch.

I know the update/upgrade is on its way if it's not already here.

Location: Not where I want to be! | It is not the chips that do the sharing across or between your units. It is the units capabilities. Hummining birds as far as I know do not share maps between themselves. Lowrance does regardless of chip brand, with an ethernet cable between them.

| Correct you will need a chip for each Hummingbird unit you run. I just switched from lowrance and wasn't aware of that. |

| Guys sorry I wasnt clear enough. I am aware that I do need a chip in both units. But I meant with Navionics, one chip (in each unit) could cover all 3 areas: MN, WI and southern Canada. It looks like with Lakemaster, I will have to buy seperate chips (actually 2 each) for all 3 areas: WI, MN and Canada. Is that right? |

Location: MN | Does Navionics do the, water offset, color depths and shallow water color like lakemaster? I think these features are awesome.
