| What's the advantages/ disadvantages against each other? HDS series has more buttons so I'm assuming it's easier to page back and forth? And easier marking stuff? |

Location: Eastern Ontario | HDS can be networked unless something has recently changed the elite series can't |

| Well that sucks. I was possibly thinking about linking a HDS and an elite or two elites... |

Location: Minnesota. | Something I noticed last year on a fav. big lake, a couple "prominent" walleye humps didn't show up on the Lake maps chips I bought in 2012.
I'm new to this technology coming right from the older Vexilar FL18 so....bare with me.
Does this give you anything? Maybe it's me....older boy! It took me awhile before I was comfy with the HDS unit but now it's invaluable!

Location: Madison, WI | The processor inside must be different. I used to have an elite 7 and a HDS 5 and when cruising across the lake, the maps would never load fast enough to actually use for navigation purposes. Never had that issue with the HDS |

Location: Tonka, MN | I have both on a cabin boat and hate the elite simply because I'm use to using HDS's. If you're just looking for a GPS graph then the elite is fine. Elite does not have as detailed of contours as the HDS though. HDS has a lot more functions, contrast, sensitivity, and has a lot more options. If you have an specific questions shoot me a PM. |
