Location: Big Lake, MN | When is a good time to use Globe type of top water baits? I have a couple of them that have many hours in the water and they still look brand new! I'm wondering if I'm using them at the wrong times or in the wrong places or if I should just give them to my buddy?!?
Thanks for the help |

Location: WI - Land of small muskies and big jawbones | Globe baits work best when the water temp is above 60 degrees. Around here that is usually from about mid june to mid sept. Throw it over shallow weeds, rocks or stumps. In very clear water you could fish them over deeper structure. I have my best results reeling it very slow like you would a hawg wobbler or a creeper. If you don't want your globe baits, tell me what you have. I may be intersted in them at a fair price. I'm nuts about musky fishing. Could you tell? |

Location: Superior, WI | I have caught fish on globes at many times of the year and day. My preferences would be: stained/shallow water, mid-summer thru early fall, after dark (any wind), during the daylight with heavy overcast and/or chop on the water. I agree with Lockjaw, the slower the better.
It may not be when you are using them, but more, are you using a GOOD globe with a GOOD sound? They should have a nice "chatter" to the blade sound, a metallic "clacking", if you will.
Drop an e-mail if you're interested in good brands or a couple of modifications that I do. |

| I don't think giving them to your buddy is a bad idea. They are not the best surface bait and you could probably replace them in your surface bait lineup with something else and not suffer. |

Location: WI | They are not the best surface baits? You've got to be kidding. I've caught most of my fish on Globes, including a 50+ and many 40's. Used in all kinds of conditions. It's a mainstay bait. |

| Oh, I am sorry that I am the one that had to tell you that. No telling how many you would have caught using better baits. |
