FYI, haven't heard much on this but the new limit on the NY Great Lakes and St. Lawrence is up from 48" to 54".....

I think that's great ! I would love to see all states go to a no harvest on Muskies. I wish Pennsylvania would at least up there legal harvest length.

putting a 54" limit on it is pretty much "no harvest".

| I don't disagree one bit...in fact I haven't kept a fish (of any species) in about 20 years. However, I have come across some older writings by Tony Rizzo on the subject of catch and release and I have to admit some of his opinions and stats are quite interesting.

Matches the size limit here on the Ontario side and I'm in full support of it. It still leaves an opportunity to harvest the fish of a lifetime if you can find one and that's your thing. I know that there a few recognition pins handed out at recent Muskies Canada meetings for the release of a legal fish with the 54" reg. Our Gananoque chapter outing in Sept had two 55" fish battle for top spot, girth breaking the tie.

I love it. There are several fish out of the Larry every year that are in the 56"+ range and I love the fact that all of the ones 54" and smaller will be released.
