Posts: 39 | I bought a used 1750 crestliner fishhawk. It has a Lowrance lcx20c on it. My plan is to move that fish finder to the bow and to buy a hummingbird for the steering counsel and to buy a terrova 80 link. Here are my questions, I am going to have a local boat shop install the trolling motor and the hummingbird as well as moving the lowrance that is on it... 1) will there be interference between hummingbird and lowrance? 2) what is the lower-end 7" or bigger hummingbird I can buy that will work with the link? 3) does the terrova link come with everything needed to mount the motor or do I have to buy a seperate bracket? 4) what is the best mount for the hummingbird for the steering counsel so I can rotate it while on the bow so I can see it and use it with the link, I was looking at the ram mount Essentially I want to have everything I need for installation bought ahead of time so I do not get charged for parts that have been marked up by the dealer (I had him quote me and I can buy online cheaper and he was cool with that and encouraged I do that) Any help is appreciated. Also 5) what is a good onboard charger that can charge the 2 batteries for the trolling motor as well as the cranking battery Estimated installation cost?

Posts: 295 | I would just install it myself... Free, I dont know anyone who tightens bolts on my boat like I do. You dont want this stuff coming loose. All the new on board chargers will work fine. Get a 3 bank one and forget about it. Youre going to want a mandible arm ram mount, one of the big long expensive ones if you want to be able to twist it around and see it easily from the bow. Good luck

You need a Ethernet compatible unit, current models start with 859 at $599 3. Comes with everything unless you want a quick detach bracket, then you need to add that. You may also need an Ethernet dongle depending what HB you get. 4. Ram or Anglers Pal are good mounts. I would look at putting the HB on the bow where you are going to be using the trolling motor and leaving the Lowrance on the dash. Get a HB that will work with the US2 on the Terrova and you are good to go. 5. Any new 3 bank charger will work fine. If need quicker than 12-14 hour recovery times look at getting something with 10 amps per bank or more.

Posts: 39 | Thanks guys, lots of good info answering my questions very specifically snd it is greatly appreciated. The only reason I thought about putting the hummingbird at the steering column with a mount was because I thought it would be easier to rotate it around to use with trolling motor rather than have it on the bow where I would have to kneel down to use it. What are your thoughts? And do I need a quick detach bracket? I assume that is to take the actual trolling motor unit off completely correct?

Posts: 45 | What would you be using for depth while motoring around the lake if the HB is tied into the Terrova but mounted at the console? I think it would make more sense to kneel down if needed then to look behind me the entire time I'm fishing. These screens are bright and clear, you won't be kneeling down much. Also keep in mind if you are getting down imaging or side imaging on the HB, you'll need to use a HB transducer not the one built into the Terrova.
